The next before and after project we are posting is from a log cabin house in Paola, KS. With this project, Midwest Marble and Granite tore-out and disposed of the existing laminate countertops and tile. We installed Coffee Brown granite on the perimeter countertops and Cygnus granite on the island top. Both of these granite colors were purchased from MSI. We have never seen the granite on the island before and it started to grow on everyone while looking at the slab at MSI. Sometimes it looks green, sometimes brown, sometimes grey…it just depends on the lighting and angle you are looking at the stone. The Coffee Brown on the perimeter was a color we knew would go with the look of the house when MM&G did the estimate. It looks dark from far away but once up close, you can see the browns in it.

The backsplash tile was purchased from Daltile and it was a little difficult to install because it has staggering highs, lows, and widths. Nonetheless, it looks amazing with the granite selections and the kitchen as a whole. The tile is slate and has the ability to give this kitchen a rustic, country look but also a new, updated look at the same time.

The sink is a Blanco 60/40 granite composite undermount sink. If you want to know more about the sink, check out the sink section of our website.

The customers decided to use their existing cabinets in their current state as well as the appliances and the hardware. They did purchase a new brushed nickel faucet, soap dispenser, and reverse osmosis water dispenser.

Thank you Richard and Janet for choosing MM&G for this project. It looks amazing!

We are also posting this updated kitchen on our Houzz profile, which includes many more pictures.
